Dequeen Annual Birthday Party

The annual birthday at Dequeen with the Lee family occurs every October. This annual tradition is due to the fact that six members of the Lee family have birthdays occuring in October. This annual event always have an abundance of good food when the family gets together. There are special family recipes and my favorite part of the meal, dessert. I've been blessed to be a part of this annual event the past two years and I always enjoy my time out there at the Lee family farm. It allows me to get away from the city and enjoy the country and experience some of the other things that Arkansas has to offer.

I've also had the opportunity to photograph Olivia and Loman. Olivia and Loman are Laura's kids. Laura is the sister of Amanda, my sister-in-law. These two kids are very photogenic and they love the camera and the camera loves them. We were out on the farm and they were just being kids. They were very easy to photograph and the weather was nice and cool enough to allow us to be outside for quite some time. We messed around with the family goat for a little bit until Olivia got a little tired and she went back inside the house. Loman, however, is always full of energy. We continued to run around to different areas of the farm and he was persistant in wanting me to drive him around in the four wheeler, which I've never driven before so I decline his offer to take him around the farm on it; something about the possibility of a broken bone here and there drew me away from it. The rest of the afternoon Loman got a kite and attempted to fly it out in the open field but there wasn't enough wind during that cool afternoon to get the kite up for any length of time. I will always enjoy my time with those great kids.

Til next time,
Phom
